Decks Privacy Policy

Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] · App: Decks - Card Games (Android)

The short version

1. Who we are

Decks is published by [LEGAL NAME OF PERSON OR BUSINESS] ("we", "us"), [COUNTRY / POSTAL ADDRESS]. For any privacy question or request, email rubysoftwarestudio@gmail.com.

2. Information that stays on your device

The following is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. We cannot see it:

Uninstalling the app deletes all of this. If Android's own device backup is turned on, your settings and custom decks may be included in your personal Google backup. Your purchases are not.

3. Anonymous usage statistics (only with your permission)

The app asks once whether you want to share anonymous usage statistics. If you say yes, we use Google Analytics for Firebase (provided by Google LLC) to learn how the app is used, for example which cards are skipped most so we can rewrite them. You can change your answer anytime in Settings > Share anonymous stats.

If you agree, the following is collected:

WhatExamples
App activityGame started or finished, deck viewed, card played or skipped (by deck and card ID), purchase screen viewed
App and device infoApp version, device model, Android version, language, screen size
Approximate regionCountry or region, which Google derives from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.
App instance IDA random identifier created when the app is installed. It resets if you reinstall the app or clear its data.

We do not collect your advertising ID, precise location, contacts, photos, or anything you type: the prompts on your custom cards, deck names and player names are never sent. We have turned off Google's ad personalisation and ad-related data sharing. Analytics data is kept for [2 / 14] months and then deleted automatically. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

If you say no, or never answer, no analytics data is sent.

4. Purchases

Deck purchases and Premium subscriptions are processed by Google Play under Google's terms and privacy policy. We never receive or store your payment card details. To unlock what you bought, the app receives a purchase confirmation from Google Play: the product, the order ID and a purchase token. To protect against fraud, this confirmation may be sent to our secure server, hosted on Google Firebase or Google Cloud. There it is checked with Google and stored only for as long as needed to confirm your purchase or subscription. "Restore purchases" works through your Google Play account. You do not need a Decks account.

Google Play also shares purchase and subscription revenue figures with our Google Analytics reports, so we can see which decks and plans people choose. This comes from Google Play, not from your phone, and never includes your payment details.

5. Adult content and children

Decks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Adult (18+) decks are hidden by default and shown only after the user confirms they are 18 or older. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

6. How we use information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers named above (Google), who process it for us, or when the law requires it.

7. Support emails

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, such as a problem description and device details. We use it only to reply, and delete it within [12] months after your issue is resolved.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time.

You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Legal bases (EU/UK): consent for analytics; performance of a contract for purchases; legitimate interests for answering support requests and preventing fraud.

9. Security

Data on your phone is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Data sent to Google is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what we collect to keep risk low.

10. International transfers

Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If the changes are significant, for example if we start collecting new kinds of data, we will tell you in the app before they take effect.
